Sara L. Anderson is Chief Operating Officer for Bristol House, LTD. in Fort Valley, Georgia. Formerly assistant editor of Good News magazine, she helped develop Sunday school material and books for Bristol Books when it was a part of the Good News organization. Bristol went independent in 1991, and Sara became its leader in 1994.
Sara, who grew up in North Dakota, loves the Georgia winters. She worked on a degree in Christian Education at Asbury Theological Seminary and has developed a growing interest in Spiritual Formation. An avid reader of non-fiction, classic fiction and female mystery writers, she believes you can never have too many books. If the heating bill gets too high, one can always use them for insulation.
Always an animal lover, Sara currently shares her home with Ziva, a rescued Shiba Inu pup with ADHD, a sophisticated elderly Siamese cat named Buffy, and Jake, whose mama was Siamese and daddy was probably a big white and black tom cat.
At the end of the year Sara is retiring as chair of the Fort Valley UMC church council. She substitutes for Sunday school teachers and helps direct the prayer ministry. She grew up in a small Methodist Church and serves on the boards of The Institute on Religion and Democracy and Good News. She recently retired after a nine-year stint on the board of the National Association of Evangelicals.
